Confocal fluorescence microscopy using a microfabricated zone plate

Abstract

We demonstrate a compact confocal fluorescence microscope using a microfabricated zone plate. Using a single fluorescent sphere, we measure the transverse and axial resolution to be below 1.6 and 2.2 μm, respectively. © 2009 Optical Society of America.
