Abstract

This Handbook examines relations between the European Union (EU) and Asia. Europe and Asia are two regions that have been undergoing significant changes internally while at the same time developing stronger relations with each other. In the context of an emerging multipolar world, they are often seen as key players, thereby rendering their relations increasingly crucial for the understanding of international politics and the role of major powers in global governance. Both the EU and many Asian countries are also important actors in multilateral fora.
