Abstract

In reply to the letter from Zhu and Norris, we wish to make the following comments. While we would accept that our large, prospective, clinical study has some limitations, we believe the data collected justify the conclusions made. This study did not aim to assess the value of the electroencephalogram in predicting the risk of developing seizures in acute stroke. Clearly, electroencephalograms were not obtained from all patients, and we drew no conclusions from the electroencephalographic data collected.
