Abstract

The conventional inner product operation involves two primative arithmetic functions: plus (+) and times (×). In this paper we describe APL's generalization of this operation. This is a machine executable operator which accepts any pair of compatible arithmetic, relational and logical functions as arguments. We also demonstrate its application to a number of problems. © 1991.
