Abstract

Somatostatin receptors mediate the effects of two structurally similar families of peptides, somatostatins (SRIF-14, SRIF-28) and cortistatins (CST-14, CST-17, CST-29). Five receptors have been identified that all have nanomolar affinity for somatostatins and cortistatins: they fall into 2 families, SRIF-1 (sst2, sst3, sst5) and SRIF-2 (sst1 and sst4) .... © 2007 Elsevier Inc.
