Abstract

As a relatively new field with a diverse membership group and varied standards of training, positive psychology faces challenges to demonstrate that it is a rigorous and professional field of scientific study. Despite its infancy, scholars and practitioners have made good progress with establishing and promoting the research and practice of positive psychology. However, they must now develop and clearly articulate a set of practice standards. This will promote transparency and heighten trust, both from the broader scientific community and from members of the public.
