The articles included in this special issue of World Development are a product of the Rural Territorial Dynamics (RTD) program (www.rimisp.org/dtr), implemented by a regional network of partners and coordinated by Rimisp-Latin American Center for Rural Development, with the aid of a generous grant from the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), Ottawa, Canada, and additional support from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the New Zealand Aid Program.
