Abstract
A model based on the behaviour and ecology of Lichenostomus melanops cassidix was used to predict the probability of successfully reintroducing these birds to vacant habitat. The model was also used to predict the increased risks faced by the wild population due to removal of birds for reintroduction or captive management purposes. The number of individuals used in the reintroduction effort has a large effect on the risks of population decline. -from Author
