Measuring and managing emissions from cattle in Australia's Northern rangelands: Utilising open-path optical techniques

Abstract

Agriculture contributes around 11% of Australia's greenhouse gas budget, with approx. 90% from ruminants. Open-path optical techniques offer an opportunity to measure the methane mole-fraction downwind from livestock to derive herd-averaged emissions.
