Initial work on the trials in this study was funded jointly by the Hunan Department of Forestry, the China Eucalypt Research Centre (CERC), CSIRO Australia and the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) through the project 'Development of germplasm and production systems for cold-tolerant eucalypts for use in cool regions of southern China and Australia' [ACIAR project FST/96/125]. Support for compilation and analyses of data and subsequent write-up was provided by a Forestry Science and Technology Extension Project 'Extension and Demonstration of Superior Cold Tolerant Eucalypt Species E. benthamii and E. dorrigoensis' (project no. 2014-18) funded by China's State Forestry Administration.
