Professor Josephine Lang (PhD, PFHEA) is currently the Associate Dean, Learning and Teaching within the Faculty of Education. In this role she has oversight of the Faculty's diverse and large portfolio of programs across initial teacher education, continuing professional education, and undergraduate breadth studies. She provides teaching and learning leadership in the Faculty tackling issues of accreditation and regulatory frameworks, professional learning, educational innovation, and assessment design encompassing assessment security against possible non-permissible Artificial Intelligence use while underpinned by assessment integrity principles. Josephine has been recognised for her academic strategic leadership and impact through her Principal Fellow award (PFHEA) by AdvanceHE, UK.

Josephine is also the Academic Director, Micro-credentials at Melbourne Professional Education (MPE), working across the University of Melbourne's faculties and leading the work in digital micro-credentials, particularly in continuing professional education contexts. In this role she facilitates the curation of quality continuing professional education programs with faculties and MPE, and often co-designing with industry partners.

With over twenty years of academic leadership in universities, she has research experience of large projects that investigate the impacts of programs to improve teaching, learning, curriculum, pedagogical and assessment practices across teacher education or whole-of-university policy contexts. Currently, her research interests incorporate what role micro-credentials play in professional education and the interrelationships between providers, industry, and learners. Her expertise includes professional and authentic learning, curriculum and assessment design, and environmental and sustainability education. She is a reviewer for several journals including Teachers and Teaching and Higher Education Research and Development.
