CLINICAL DIRECTOR- headspace NATIONAL, YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH FOUNDATION
Dr Radovini is the Director of Mindful – Centre for Training and Research in Developmental Health.
This is the Victorian state-wide teaching and training unit for child and adolescent mental health. Mindful is funded by a grant from the Victorian Department of Health and jointly auspiced by The University of Melbourne and Monash University.
There are currently seven postgraduate courses hosted by Mindful enrolling over 150 professionals annually.
A key function of Mindful is the provision of professional forums, workshops, short courses for CAMHS [Child & Adolescent Health Services] clinicians and clinicians working in other sectors e.g. education, welfare, private practice.
Dr Radovini is also the Director of Advanced Training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry for Victoria under the guidelines of the RANZCP [Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrist].
She also co-ordinates the Child and Adolescent subject of the MPsych/MPM, [Master of Psychiatry, Master of Psychological Medicine] University Of Melbourne and Monash University. This is the formal education component for all psychiatry training in Victoria.
In Nov 2011 Dr Radovini was appointed as the inaugural Clinical Director of headspace National, Youth Mental Health Foundation, an Australian Commonwealth Government initiative to provide early access to mental health services for youth [12-25].
Between 2009 & 2011 Dr Radovini was the inaugural Chief Child Psychiatrist with the Victorian Government Department of Health, Mental Health Drugs and Regions Division. This position was created by the Minister for Mental Health as part of the Victorian Mental Health Reform Strategy to focus on the needs of children, young people and their families.
The Office of the Chief Psychiatrist has oversight of the care and wellbeing of all patients in the State Government Mental Health Services. This position was created to assist the Chief Psychiatrist in matters relating to the care and welfare of children, adolescents and young people receiving treatment/care for a mental illness. In addition Dr Radovini provided input into child and youth policy, service system and workforce development.
Dr Radovini has over 25 years clinical experience in Mental Health having worked in both the private and public sectors, metropolitan and rural settings and child, adolescent, youth and adult psychiatry.
For 9 years Dr Radovini was the Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist with the Orygen Youth Health, IMYOS (Intensive Mobile Youth Outreach Service) team working with high risk young people with multiple and complex needs. The team developed innovative ways of working with vulnerable young people and their families and carers. Dr Radovini has co-authored several papers describing the IMYOS model of care.
Dr Radovini was previously Clinical Director of Bendigo CAMHS [Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service] a regional service whose catchment area covers a quarter of the state of Victoria.
