Elaina is Lead of Teaching and Senior Lecturer for Speech Pathology at The University of Melbourne, She is also Vice President of the Stuttering Association for the Young: Australia and Section Lead for Developmental Stuttering within the Centre for Neuroscience of Speech at The University of Melbourne. Elaina is an Honorary Fellow of the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute, Melbourne, Australia.She has worked exclusively in the field of stuttering for the past 10 years across academic, research and clinical roles.

Her current appointment as co-lead of the Early Language in Victoria Stuttering Study reflects one of her key research foci understanding the epidemiology of childhood stuttering. Recently she received funding together with her collaborators at The University of Oslo and University College London. This research program is focused on treatment interventions for preschool children who stutter.
