Dr Imogen Clark is a Lecturer and Research Fellow in Music Therapy at the University of Melbourne. Her lecturing role specialises in the development and delivery of curriculum for domestic and international blended learning students.

Dr Clark has coordinated various research projects focussing on music therapy for older adults including experimental trials, systematic reviews, psychometric testing, interpretative phenomenological analysis, and thematic analysis, and has published widely in peer reviewed music therapy, medical, and allied health journals. Her PhD dissertation by publication, conferred in October 2016, investigated music to support physical activity in older adults with health conditions and was awarded the La Trobe University Nancy Millis Award for thesis of exceptional merit. As further evidence of her emerging status as a researcher, Dr Clark was awarded the Hazel Hawke Dementia Australia grant in 2018 to investigate the effects of songwriting on the health and wellbeing of families living with dementia. She is a Chief Investigator on two NHMRC Boosting Dementia Grants (APP1137853, APP1169867) led by Professor Felicity Baker investigating music therapy interventions for people living with dementia. As a clinician working predominantly with older adults and people in rehabilitation, Dr Clark has held various positions including at Eastern Health, Austin Health, Eastern Palliative Care, and St Vincent’s Health. Dr Clark is the current Editor in Chief for the Australian Journal of Music Therapy (AJMT).
