Dr Daejeong Choi is a Senior lecturer in the Department of Management and Marketing at the University of Melbourne. He is a Management and leadership scholar (PhD from the University of Iowa, the United States) as well as an organizational psychologist (PhD from Korea University, South Korea).

His research questions center around theoretical and functional mechanisms linking human resource management systems to employee behaviors and work team productivity across multi-levels (firm, teams, and employees). One primary interest is in work team leadership, particularly in the nature of relationships between team leaders and followers. He is interested in how team leader-follower relationships form/transform employees’ shared perception pertaining to human resource management and subsequently capitalize not only team effectiveness (e.g., team performance) but also employees’ affective, cognitive, and behavioral outcomes. His research has been published at top management journals including Journal of Applied Psychology, the Leadership Quarterly, Human Resource Management Review, and International Journal of Selection and Assessments as well as other Korean Journals and Books. His teaching interests include Strategic Human Resource Management, Organizational Leadership, and Research Methods courses at the undergraduate or postgraduate levels including PhD courses.
