Isabelle Rouiller

Isabelle Rouiller graduated as a Biochemical Engineer from INSA Lyon in 1994. She obtained her PhD in 1998 for studying the assembly of African Swine Fever Virus (ASFV) at the Institute for Animal Health (Pirbright laboratories, UK).

She trained as a postdoctoral fellow in single particle cryo-electron microscopy and electron tomography at The Scripps Research Institute (San Diego, USA) and at The Burnham Institute (San Diego, USA). In 2007, she established her our laboratory at McGill University (Montreal, Canada) where she conducted cryo-EM studies of medically important macromolecular complexes. In 2017, she joined the department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Melbourne (Melbourne Australia). The core of the research lab on structure-function studies of macromolecular complexes using cryo-EM. A particular focus is proteins that are promising for vaccine development and proteins that are important for the treatment of cancer and neurological diseases.
