Fang-Chi Lu is Senior Lecturer in the Department of Management and Marketing at the University of Melbourne. Prior to joining the University of Melbourne, Dr. Lu worked as an Assistant Professor of Marketing in Korea University Business School, South Korea.

She received her PhD in Marketing from the University of Iowa, USA. She also holds a MBA degree from National Taiwan University, Taiwan, and a Bachelor degree in International Business from National Chengchi University, Taiwan. Dr. Lu’s research examines consumer information processing and decision making in the domains of customer-brand relationship, consumer motivation and goal pursuit, and marketing communication with socially excluded or lonely consumers. She utilises in-lab experiments to provide insights into causal processes, and field studies to test the findings in the real world. Her research has appeared in the Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Consumer Psychology, Psychological Science, and Journal of Advertising. She won Ballard and Seashore Dissertation Award, a prestigious university-wide competitive dissertation award in the University of Iowa.
